If you look at some of the top entrepreneurs, they all have a few things in common. It’s what has made them who they are today. What has driven their success time and time again. Here are six traits that made them who they are.
Age is just a number.
This one is something I can directly relate to. At the age of 16, I was able to create a grand-scale company. Other notable entrepreneurs did it in their teens or early twenties. And, some even did it in their 40s and 50s. The only minute you lose – is the one you don’t take in taking that first step.
You don’t have to be a certain age to start something big. Listen to your heart. Find your passion. And, Just do it. Dream Big. Hustle Harder.
Have a mentor.
With the advances in technology this has become more of a reality. It’s now, easier than ever to get in touch with someone who can guide you. Someone who can help you achieve your goals. You must still have the dream, the drive, and the passion, to get there.
Don’t be afraid to go out and seek a mentor. It can be very beneficial to your career, and personal growth as an individual. And, sometimes you don’t have to look far to have a mentor. My mentor was my grandmother, who wasn’t an entrepreneur much less even ever who went to school. But, she taught me the meaning of love and that’s what drove me to succeed. And, love endures everything.
Determination.
The smartest decision you can make, is to never give up. Quitting shouldn’t exist in your personal vocabulary. The only time “success” comes before “work” is in the dictionary.
Don’t let up an opportunity because it requires too much work. One day you’ll see someone else do it with the same determination you should’ve had, and you’ll regret that mistake.
Respect.
Respect should never be an issue. Whether you’re worth millions, or you’re beginning your career, there’s only one thing people will remember you by. Fame is vapor, popularity an accident, riches take wings but only character endures.
If you treat others with respect, you’ll leave a much bigger legacy behind than if you made some money. And, you’ll attract many more opportunities.
Open mindset.
Adjust to new surroundings. Make the best of your situations. Stay positive.
A change in your setting shouldn’t affect who you are or how you operate, but rather how you go about it. Open your mind and keep it open. And remember: There is nothing you can’t do. When others see obstacles, look for opportunities.
Be a leader.
Many can talk the talk, but can they abide by their words and lead by example?
Become a leader. Take charge. Lead with direction, be an example, have confidence, and give respect. Success is like a roller coaster ride, you may reach a high point, but moments later Gravity can pull you right down. Stay humble.
Don’t walk like you own the world. Walk like you don’t care who does.
